Don’t worry, the comics are safe.  I have backed-up the entire site, removed everything from the servers, and begun developing the new version of The Nob Mouse Network.  It will be up and running later today, so be sure to check back!

I’ve rebuilt the site but it still needs redecorating.  That will happen a little later, either later today or over the weekend.  For the moment, there is only Series One accessible but this will change as I upload more comics.  The whole collection will be online by midday.

The entire back catalogue of Nob Mouse comics should now be online for your visual delectation.  I have left them in the same order they were in on the original site, because I find keeping the archives in chronological order generally makes reading the comics easier, and also provides a clear demonstration of the way the comic has developed.  There are a couple of ‘placeholder’ comics missing at the moment, such as the ’snowed under’ comic and the one with Nob Mouse checking my progress during last year’s NaNaWriMo but I don’t think these are too important to the comic and I’ll upload them when I can find them in my backups.

If anything else is missing, I’ll find it and put it back into the comic in the correct place when I can.

I’m eager to hear what comments, if any, people have about the new look for the site.  It should make maintaining the site a lot easier from my point of view but I’m just as eager to make sure it looks and feels okay for you peeps too – after all, the site is here for your entertainment so if it’s not fitting the bill, please tell me!

Comments are open on all News and Commentary posts so feel free to comment away!  You should find it is pretty simple to comment since I’m using a WordPress system to run the site now.  I’ve disabled comments on individual comics but if people would prefer to be able to talk about the comics on the comics themselves, rather than the posts that are associated with them, then please say so and I’ll enable comments on all the comics.

Finally, let me please welcome you all to the new-look Nob Mouse Network.  I hope you like it!

The comics in The Life of Nob T. Mouse are arranged into ’series’, defined by both the period in which they were created and the comic form they take.  Because of this arrangement, the comics are now tagged with the series to which they belong.  This has the advantage that you can now search for comics by series and have them display in order, from the earliest to the latest.

The series are as follows:

Series One: Comics created between 1996 and 1999 inclusive.  Basically, the comic’s entire original run.

Series Two: Long form (multiple-panel, usually arranged in a rectangle) comics created from 2007 onward.  These are usually posted on Mondays under the current posting schedule.

Series Three: Short form (usually 3/4 panel) comics created from 2008 onward.  These are usually posted on Fridays under the current schedule.

I’ll be working on a full archive system for the comic at some point in the future but for now you can rely on the series links that will be appearing in the column on the right-hand side of the site to find the series you’re interested in.

Sorry everyone but for the next week or so it is unlikely that there will be an episode of The Life of Nob T. Mouse.  The reason for this is twofold.  Firstly, I’ll be on holiday and I simply haven’t had time to put the finishing touches to the comics, and secondly I’ve got an exam coming up for which I need a lot of time to revise.

Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible but it’s likely that I’ll not get anything online until mid next week at the earliest.

The next comic is on its way.  Unfortunately I didn’t have time over the weekend to finish it off so I’m finishing it this morning.  It will be up by this evening.  I apolgise for the delay but sometimes these things are unavoidable.

I am flabbergasted, I really am. After more than ten years (11 years 8 months, I believe) of thinking these things were lost forever, one of the two animated episodes ofThe Life of Nob T. Mouse has surfaced in one place I never thought I’d find them: the place I checked first when looking for them last time!  The world works in mysterious ways.

I have added a new Animations page to the website to commemorate this momentus occasion.  There you will find the less good of the two animations that were produced.  I would put up the better of the two but I haven’t found that one.  Sorry.  I hope you enjoy what I have found, however.  It took me a long time to produce (freehand, using a mouse, on a 25Mhz 386SX and a 256-colour pallette in 320×200 resolution) and even longer to find after I lost it!

There may be future animations of Nob Mouse and friends but don’t hold your breath because it takes so long to make one of these things that you’d be dead long before it was finished.  Remember kids, you can only go without oxygen for four minutes!

There are a few slight problems, nothing too bad but irksome in their own ways, that mean the next strip will be slightly delayed.  Expect it to still appear on Monday but unfortunately not at the scheduled 00:01 time for publication.  I most humbly apologise but there are limits to what I can do.

I’m having massive technical trouble right now so I don’t know if tomorrow’s comic will be completed in time.  At the moment both Photoshop and the Gimp are crashing regularly so I’ve got hardly anything done.  In the mean time, here is the sketchwork for tomorrow’s strip by way of showing that it does exist even if it doesn’t yet exist in completion.
