Preview of part 5

Monday, October 1st, 2007

Real Life has been very hard on me of late so this comic is very much delayed. However I am working on it and it will be with you as soon as possible. In the meantime, here is a preview of the comic. It is the first panel (I draw all the panels separately and then put them together on one page, shrink them down to the right size and upload them), with the dialogue added so you get a better idea of what is going on. Enjoy!

Taking a break for NaNaWriMo

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

Sorry peeps, I should have said this earlier. I’m away working on a novel that has been going ’round in my head for so long now that I need to get it done or I’ll just simply go insane. I’ll be back as soon as it’s finished, which won’t be long now because I’ve been working on it as part of that annual NaNoWriMo.org thing and I’m doing very well with it.

The trouble with a Quantum Santa, part 1

Sunday, December 23rd, 2007

This interlude story came about after I was sat thinking about quantum mechanics (as sometimes happens when you’re me). The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle mixed with Wave-Particle Duality works on the basis that anything that may possess wave-particle duality can be both a wave and a particle at the same time, but will become a fixed point upon observation. Now add to this the idea that if you had a wave as big as the universe it could, in theory, exist everywhere at the same time.

I mixed in the problem of Santa having to reach every house on the planet in one night and came up with the idea that Santa must exist in a state of Wave-Particle Duality with his wave being equal, or greater, in size than that of the Earth’s own waveform. However, he cannot be observed in this form or he will suddenly exist in only one position; which makes delivering presents a problem.

Thus this story was born. Tune in later for the rest of this little interlude!

The trouble with a Quantum Santa, part 3

Although it’s rather late, I’m rather proud of this episode. It’s a rather technical page, having a lot of little fiddly effects in it such as: multiple overlaid panels; portions of drawings extending out of the panels they’re from and so forth. I had a lot of fun drawing it.

This is also somewhat of a milestone for The Life of Nob T. Mouse as it is the first story to be completed in Series Two. Whether that is of interest to anyone but me is a point of contention but hey, I’m happy. :)
