This strip has been some time coming but I hope you think it’s worth it. I’ve been very busy with work and my new degree course so I’ve had little time to get this put together. Nevertheless it’s here now and it represents another step forward toward the inevitable finale of this long and winding story. There’s still a lot of mileage left in this story but I can see the end on the horizon, even if you lot can’t. That’s the advantage of having the plot worked out beforehand, I suppose!

The idea for how to lay out this particular episode came to me while I was bored at work. I drew the whole thing on a piece of notepaper in between taking ‘phone calls from clients wanting to renew their registration fees (I’m temping in a call centre to pay the bills while I work on my first novel) and I was amazed at how quickly the whole story just came together.

I’m starting to get ahead of myself now with these comics. Traditionally I script them in advance of drawing them but recently I’ve also begun drawing them ahead of time, too. This means I’m starting to get a few comics ready before they need to go up, so hopefully I will be able to avoid the annoying delays that have plagued the strip of late.

I’m being pestered by a few people to do another interlude story and this seems like a fitting cliffhanger on which to leave the action for the moment, so next week you can expect a new interlude story. Be sure to tune in for the wacky adventures of Doctor Nob!
